Ron Naaman was born in 1949, Israel.
He finished his BSc at the Ben Gurion University in 1973 and PhD at the Ben Gurion University at Beer-Sheva, Israel, and at the Weizmann Institute, Rehovot, Israel.
After being postdoctoral fellow at Stanford University and at Harvard he moved to the Weizmann Institute in 1980 and is a Professor there in the Department of Chemical and Biological Physics.
He served as the head of the Nancy and Stephan Grand Research Center for Sensors and Security.
And the chairman of the Scientific Council of the Weizmann Institute, as well as Chairman of his department.
